Privacy Policy for SmartyShortz, LLC Mobile Application(s)

Overview

This privacy policy explains how SmartyShortz, LLC collects and uses information in our mobile applications and how this information is used.

Personally Identifiable Information:

Students, Parents, Teachers and/ or players can create student, user or player profiles in the educational or game mobile applications and give them a name or create a username. The name or username entered, player’s game progress, and education feedback on lessons is stored locally on the device. In addition, a user or student can also elect to create a username tied to their school & teacher and we will store it in the cloud in our Amazon RDS hosted database. When we collect personally identifiable information about you such as full name, address, phone number, email address, parent’s name, parent’s email address, high score in a game or progress on a task in a lesson this done solely to allow your teacher to contact you in the course of utilizing the application or track your progress in a education game with your peers.

We do not knowingly contact or collect personal information from children under 13 without the student, parent and teacher’s approval. If you believe we have inadvertently collected such information, please contact us so we can promptly obtain parental consent or remove the information.

Location Information:

We do not collect or store your precise geographic location for the majority of our applications. For an application that utilizes such information, we will prompt the user first to allow the usage of geographic location and secondly prompt to store said information if needed.

Access to personal data:

When we collect personally identifiable information about you such as full name, address, phone number, email address, parent’s name, parent’s email address, high score in a game or progress on a task in a lesson this done solely to allow your teacher to contact you in the course of utilizing the application in an educational experience or track your progress in a game with your peers. This player profile can be viewed and/or deleted inside the app, Apple’s Game Center or by contacting your teacher.

Sharing of information:

We generally do not share personally identifiable information (such as name, address, email or phone) with other companies. In an educational environment, we may share student information related to a course with that student's school's authorized administrators or users.

Ad Companies:

For our paid applications, we do not allow advertising companies to collect data through our service for ad targeting.
For our free applications, we will allow advertising companies to utilize data for ad targeting.

Analytics:

We use Flurry Analytics to track anonymous Analytical usage of our applications as well as errors (technical exceptions) that might occur. This anonymous data is used to improve the usage of our mobile applications and for debugging purposes.

Special Situations:

To operate the service, we also may make identifiable and anonymous information available to third parties in these limited circumstances: (1) with your express consent, (2) when we have a good faith belief it is required by law, (3) when we have a good faith belief it is necessary to protect our rights or property, or (4) to any successor or purchaser in a merger, acquisition, liquidation, dissolution or sale of assets. Your consent will not be required for disclosure in these cases, but we will attempt to notify you, to the extent permitted by law to do so.

Other:

Our applications contain links to applications by SmartyShortz, LLC in the iTunes App Store via our custom technology that shows other applications developed by our firm.
